Asking Questions: Know When.

– “I saw you were listening intently.”
– “No sense in listening if it isn’t attentive.”
– “Didn’t you have any questions?”
– “Of course I had.”
– “Then why didn’t you ask?”
– “Most of them were answered without it.”
– “How?”
– “Patience rewards.”
– “You found answers in what came next?”
– “Exactly. As it most often does.”
– “Does it?”
– “If we’re humble enough to allow it, yes.”
– “Were there no more questions?”
– “Sure there were. And I asked them.”
– “When? I didn’t see you asking.”
– “I asked when the lecture finished.”
– “You have so much patience.”
– “No. Just the required amount of it.”
– “How do you deem what’s required amount?”
– “What was my goal?”
– “To learn, I suppose.”
– “What is learning?”
– “Collection, analysis, application, awareness.”
– “Before we grow aware, we must apply.”
– “Before we apply, we must analyze.”
– “Before we analyze, we must collect it fully.”
– “And does it not necessitate questions?”
– “Of course it does.”
– “Even counter-arguments, for comparisons.”
– “But how do we know the right questions?”
– “Umm…”
– “And how do we know right comparisons?”
– “Uh…”
– “To know, is to accept first that I don’t know.”
– “That’s modesty.”
– “No, that’s honesty.”
– “So before we decide what to do with data…”
– “We must collect it fully first.”
– “So let’s not interrupt the giving?”
– “Let’s not interrupt the receiving.”
– “So it’s not just a nicety you offer as grace?”
– “It’s a fealty I owe to self progress.”
