– “Your path is dark.”
– “I don’t have a path.”
– “It’s there. You can’t see it.”
– “I don’t complain. I prefer it.”
– “Why?”
– “If the path was lit,
it’d be because someone else lit it.
Someone before me.
If I followed the lights,
I’ll see the path;
but I won’t know the destination.
I’ll know it only when I reach it.
And it won’t be necessarily one I’d want.
I’m not here to copy someone else.
And if I don’t want others’ destinations,
I need to pave my own paths.
And I need to shine my own light.
I prefer it; for it keeps my mind free.
And I need that unlocked thinking.
For success is to play a sport; not a role.
I can win at a game,
only when the moves are mine.”
