– “Why did you bring me here, Teacher?”
– “You said the Chosen is your idol.”
– “Yes. But why are we here?”
– “What do you know about him?”
– “He’s a genius prodigy!
He achieves what nobody achieves!
He breaks norms! He acts so different!
All girls love him! He’s so cool!”
– “Why is he your idol?”
– “Well, for all the things I just listed.”
– “And what do you wish to do with it?”
– “I’ll try to be like him.”
– “And lose who you are?”
– “I’m useless!”
– “Because you aren’t like him?”
– “Exactly.”
– “Do you see that rainbow?”
– “Yes.”
– “What does it take for a rainbow to form?”
– “Specific aerial humidity.
Specific angle of sunlight.
A very specific situation.”
– “The Chosen is like that specific situation.
Specific genetics. Specific aptitude.
Cultivated in specific childhood situation.
Exposure to specific experiences;
some by choice and some by luck.
Point is, he’s a specific system.
An exception. Are you?”
– “You’re saying I’ll never be like him?”
– “What’s the goal?
To be him? Or to achieve like him?”
– “To achieve like him.”
– “Do you know any other way
we can get a rainbow?”
– “I can hold a flint-stone at a specific angle
in sunlight; get the color spectrum on floor.”
– “Don’t you think it’s easier than
trying to change aerial humidity?”
– “Sure.”
– “Each one of you is that flint-stone.
Focus on using yourself in the right angle.
You don’t need to be that prodigy;
You can get your own rainbows alright.
No need to see idols in exceptions.
No need to waste time being someone else.
Let your own successful self-image
get your juices flowing.”
