What’s hurting your sentiments?
People? Their speech? Their actions?
Or the fragility of your sentiments
itself is hurting you?
Sure; let’s not blame the victim here.
Sure; others are the culprits.
Sure; they need to be a bit more sensible.
But we can’t control them, can we?
And we can’t keep getting hurt, can we?
But we can control our choices, can’t we?
So let’s strengthen those sentiments.Feelings are emotionalized thoughts.
A feeling is a process.
We freeze it at a spot; unfinished.
A perpetual emotion we can cherish.
That’s sentiment.
We see an identity in it.
But we can have a better identity.
One which still loves what we love;
but doesn’t need others to love it too.
One that doesn’t care what others think of it.
Think about it.
You won’t be bothered when you realize
you don’t have to bother. Keep it simple.
It’s a choice.
